New Almond nail shape!

Hello!

Posting to show you my newly shaped nails that I'm really pleased with! I decided to re-shape them after seeing a lot of people with gently pointed nail tips, including AJ from Nail Lacquer UK and my friend Jenny at work. I've also cracked my index finger really low down :-( so thought filing them slightly shorter would make the break less tragic when it finally surrenders!

Here they are with a simple diagonal gradient using Barry M's Rosehip and Sugar Apple that I wore for work:

The last pic above showing where the break is! So bad! :-(
I also experimented with adding a pastel-ish galaxy design over the top of them, but I think I prefered the gradient on it's own!

I was recommended to get Orly's Nail Rescue to mend my break - I'm desperate so I've ordered it to give it a try, I'll let you all know if it works!

I also recieved my prize from The Naily Mail giveaway today, which was some beautiful polishes, including a new bottle of Rosehip which I need as mine is running out and it's definitely my favourite polish EVER at the moment! Also included was a Nailtiques treatment to make nails stronger, which I'm really up for trying as mine are so bad at the moment. I will keep you updated on my progress there too!

  1. I love the gradient! And I actually quite like the galaxy too :) Ouch for the nail break! I always try the tea bag repair method when my nails break, I hope the Orly works for you! :)

    1. I've got a teabag repair while I wait for the Orly - I think it would have been delivered today had it not been a bank holiday - hopefully I will get it tomorrow! x

  2. Love the new shape. I wish I could pull it off but can't file them even - yours look perfect!

    1. I thought I wouldn't be able to get the point in the 'centre' of each nail, but it worked pretty well, much better than I thought! I didn't even really consciously plan to go for this shape, it just happened, but I really like them :-)

  3. I love the new shape - my Mum always had her nails shaped this way, & even without polish they looked elegant, & somehow longer than if they had a more rounded end. I wish I had your will power when I get a crack or a break in a nail. I always file every nail short if one breaks, as otherwise I find the broken bit catches on stuff.
