Palm Trees
Hello. Here's today's manicure! Palm Trees! I love doing manicures with a simple pattern or print repeated all over, I think it looks really effective.
The base shade for these is Sun Hat by Models Own from the Polish For Tans collection. This is a super-bright neon barbie pink, and no way as bright as in these pics - couldn't get the camera to quite capture the brilliant neon. I only used two easy coats of the base shade - I love these polishes so much!
Once the base was dry I added the little palm trees using my black and white Barry M nail-art pens. I can't believe these are still going strong as I used them in practically every mani - definitely my best nail-art buy EVER.
I finished with a topcoat of Nails Inc Caviar topcoat. This is my definite favourite of the moment but one I don't think I'd buy as it's £12 a bottle and I don't think I can justify buying that when I never keep my manicures on more than a day or two at a time! The bottle I'm using now I won as a prize.
Here are some more photos, ignore the extra "white lines", these are reflections from the flash/light in the room!

So Many Watermelons
Hello!
I 'broke up' from work today ready for 5 days off - I work shifts and get five off every three weeks, working lots in between so I'm really ready for this weekend off! Also, I need to keep my nails relatively plain and simple for work - it doesn't necessarily mean no nail art, but nothing super-eye-catching. Which means that as soon as I finished this afternoon, I came up with THIS:
Yaaaay, bright summery nails! I got the idea for these watermelon nails from @naildesignsbyjulie over on Instagram. (and if you want to follow me on Instagram, I'm here!) Julie made a quick tutorial vid for these, so I could see exactly how she'd done them.
I decided to use yellow as the base, this is Barry M's summer Limited Edition Yellow from last year. Love this shade and how bright and pigmented it is! I then drew on triangles using Shades by Models Own. This is a pinky/coral shade, but over the bright yellow base it has turned kind of orange - I forgot this yellow bleeds into any light colour put over it - damn! Wish I'd used a pinker pink! Anyway, I drew these triangles using a dotting tool. I then added green 'peel' also with the dotting tool (Greenberry, Barry M). My Barry M nail-art pens provided the black and white detail. I topcoated with Nails Inc Caviar Topcoat - I love the shine on this!
Here's a pic of the polish I used before I decided to add the white detailing:
And a few more pics of the finished nails! They are sooooo bright (and look a bit like pizza slices) but on the whole I'm pleased!

Pineapple!
Hello! Really looking forward to showing off my nails today. These were inspired by a pair of jeans I saw in a magazine, that were from Topshop - here they are:
I really liked the simple pineapple print, and wanted to recreate this. I spent a few days thinking of how to make the mani more interesting, and eventually came up with this design last night. I used Key Lime and the limited edition summer Yellow from Barry M, as well as Sinful Colours Snow Me White and coloured studs from Born Pretty.
I'm really pleased with how these turned out, and gutted that I can't keep them on longer - back to work tomorrow so got to go back to plain! I might be recreating this design again in summer, or at least using that pineapple in future manis now I know I can do it!
