<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">My nails today were inspired by a manicure done recently by <a href="http://www.polishisthenewblack.com/2015/05/cath-kidston-nail-art-tutorial.html" target="_blank">Polish Is The New Black</a>. She did a gorgeous blue-based rose design, inspired by Cath Kidston prints. I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to give it a go! I also knew that it would take a while, but I found some spare time last night while I was watching telly, and did the design myself.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">My base was Blueberry by Barry M. I kind of wish I'd picked a paler blue!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I then used Cotton by Barry M and my Models Own dotting tools to create the white 'cloud' shapes (largest dotting tool)....</span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I then took Passionfruit by Barry M and added a large blob in the middle of each 'cloud', again with a dotting tool. </span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I used a Green Models Own polish to add leaves - these are a bit messy as I did them with a small dotting tool because I'm rubbish at using brushes! Because of this they're more like blobs than actual leaf shapes, but hopefully because the design is so tiny it won't be too obvious!</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgelkcFn531oXfanhN-qB3u5daNXORyD2zFy8jfOalakM2c5DnW4SgO097_o-vJVhya_hhZO6TxOMwpSVh5obn2a3KX4SG668xVmc4HHqVL3jNqQpDhfqJuh1sJzEQinaF6mcqWQlfHXkVe/s1600/CK5.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgelkcFn531oXfanhN-qB3u5daNXORyD2zFy8jfOalakM2c5DnW4SgO097_o-vJVhya_hhZO6TxOMwpSVh5obn2a3KX4SG668xVmc4HHqVL3jNqQpDhfqJuh1sJzEQinaF6mcqWQlfHXkVe/s400/CK5.PNG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Then I topcoated, and cleaned up excess polish from around my cuticles using a small brush dipped in acetone. Finally, I used my white Barry M nail art pen to add a bit of detail to the roses, and topcoated again! </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I wanted to do some nice, bright nails for a trip to London this weekend. I knew I wanted to use my new, super-bright Electric Nights polishes I'd recently bought. These are by China Glaze and they're gorgeous!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I also wanted to try out my new swirly vinyls from She Sells Seashells. I thought I'd combine the two, and came up with this! For all nails I started with a white base - I used Cotton by Barry M. Once this was dry, I topped my ring finger, little finger and thumb with two coats of the neon glitter. </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">For the swirly nails, I waited a bit longer until the white was completely dry. I then used tweezers to carefully pull up a swirly vinyl, and stick it down onto the nail, two to each nail as my nails are long! I painted over with the pink, then removed the vinyl immediately. There were some imperfections where the pink leaked a little into the white, so I used a white nail-art pen to correct this before topcoating.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I looooveeee theeeemmmm!!!</span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I've wanted to try this 'look' on my nails for a while after seeing others do similar. I bought the OPI Sheer Tints mini collection soon after it was released, but struggled to think of ways to use it in my manicures. The collection consists of clear polishes that are 'tinted' with colour - so you can use them over other colours to alter them, or over white to create a pattern etc.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">For this manicure, I started with a base of a silver holo polish, and topped this with glitter. Here it is before I started playing with the sheer tints: (I especially like the shadow of my hand in this pic, haha)</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCsNABuWXSufyzG9vDE-V2Q6oAXrN0AYRMEiyDbcvSJ07vmVkT9ndmoPRx64uHAZjnzA-9QvkfnUdnWPBvkxGoHcngNUJk4yxLN50-DXLKo2qWREPgLfkp0dvMxcJxAe1uz-yIRMOXn_cx/s1600/silver.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCsNABuWXSufyzG9vDE-V2Q6oAXrN0AYRMEiyDbcvSJ07vmVkT9ndmoPRx64uHAZjnzA-9QvkfnUdnWPBvkxGoHcngNUJk4yxLN50-DXLKo2qWREPgLfkp0dvMxcJxAe1uz-yIRMOXn_cx/s1600/silver.PNG" height="373" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I then got the sheer tints, and dabbed the colours in a random pattern on each nail. I let them overlap a bit to create new colours, and then added topcoat. </span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">The result was a lovely, shimmery glittery manicure!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I haven't bought any new polish for aaaages but I had to cave when I saw the new Electric Nights collection by China Glaze, and seeing manicures people had created using the polishes. I'm not usually bothered about China Glaze as a brand - it seems a bit too pricey for me, and I prefer to stick to polishes that are more easily available on the highstreet for not too much money, such as Barry M and Models Own. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">However, I saw that these new China Glaze polishes were available on <a href="http://www.nailpolishdirect.co.uk/" target="_blank">Nail Polish Direct</a> for half price, and couldn't resist treating myself to some. I agonised between getting the full collection of the mini neon cremes, but to save money I settled on getting my favourite full-size creme and my favourite glitter from the collection. These were Glow With The Flow (pink!) and Point Me To The Party (multi-coloured neon glitter). </span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKOWg0HUmtUJy2UcqPNzDZy-cp1EDcaj2_YUNeVjvJLfrKqI-o4GM6od40JfaXNtC9dhXzhyq80ExBOesqhGaVlSiHvGZYBTifyIHsfn34SWwuGNwcZiAm-6meznnngU4qFh3iAIpRwxfA/s1600/ElectricNights2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKOWg0HUmtUJy2UcqPNzDZy-cp1EDcaj2_YUNeVjvJLfrKqI-o4GM6od40JfaXNtC9dhXzhyq80ExBOesqhGaVlSiHvGZYBTifyIHsfn34SWwuGNwcZiAm-6meznnngU4qFh3iAIpRwxfA/s1600/ElectricNights2.png" height="400" width="377" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">They came this week and I was desperate to use them! I had a few ideas, but ended up going for a pink-to-white gradient with the glitter over the top. For the gradient I used Glow With The Flow, along with a paler pink (to help the gradient blend better) and a white polish, both Barry M. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">These photos don't do the pink justice - my camera couldn't handle the neon! It's soooo bright in real life, and I definitely want to wear this for like the whole of summer. The glitter is fab too, really colourful and unusual - I will have to think of lots of ways to incorporate it into my nail art. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;">I like to do nails to 'go with' places I'm going! Today, I went with my mum, sister and grandma to York's Chocolate Story, which is like a museum about the history of chocolate. It's in York, where I live, but we've never actually got round to going. We thought it'd be a fun day out so we went today. There was a guided tour with info about the history of chocolate-making and how it is made. There was also quite a few different opportunities to taste chocolate in different forms, watch a chocolate-making demo and to decorate our own chocolate lolly!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;">I had a look on Google to see what 'chocolate nails' other people had done, and found a fab design done by quite a few people that made the nails look like chocolate bars. It looked pretty simple to do, so I decided to have a go.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #b45f06;">I started off with three coats of brown polish. I remember buying this cheap, unbranded polish because brown is useful for nail art. I'd never wear brown polish otherwise! After the brown was completely dry, I used the black and the white Barry M nail art pens to create the chocolate bar pattern, using the images I'd seen on Google as a guide. I started by using the black to draw a grid on each nail, then adding a black "L" shape into each square. I then used the white to do an upside down L! As I was doing these I didn't think they looked too good, but the overall look was quite effective. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Today I've got some ladybirds to show you! I saw a similar design by @lieve91 on twitter and wanted to recreate it. I thought it'd be ideal for spring, and not too hard to do.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I started with three coats of Road Rage by Barry M. This is the mint green shade from the Speedy Quick Dry collection. I've not yet had chance to try out all the shades from this collection yet, but the ones I have tried have been great! The pastel colours are gorgeous, and apply smoothly. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Once my base was dry, I added red dots using a dotting tool and Passion Fruit by Barry M. I left them a while so the red dots dried and wouldn't streak when I added topcoat. After the topcoat I waited a bit longer as nails need to be completely dry when using the Barry M nail art pens.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">When I thought they were dry enough, I began adding heads, dots and legs to each red blob to make ladybirds. This was quite time-consuming and I had to go steadily and not rush to make sure I got all the tiny detail right. They're definitely not perfect, but as a repeated print across all my nails they look quite quirky and cute!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I started by doing my right hand (as I'm left handed and it's easier) but by the time I got to my left hand I'd got the hang of it, and despite using my non-dominant hand to add the details I actually like the finished look of my left hand better, I think it's neater! Here are both my hands anyway:</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Today I've got the results of another Mani Swap to show you. This time I collaborated with Amy from <a href="http://hairnailsetc.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Hair, Nails, Etc</a> who creates some gorgeous nail art!</span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">We both picked a design that the other had done, and tried to recreate it.</span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I picked Amy's fab camouflage design. I've wanted to try camo nails in proper camo colours for a while, but I've never got round to giving it a go as I didn't think I would get the pattern to look right. However when I saw Amy's design I thought it looked perfect, and I tried to get my blobs of colour in exactly the same place as hers! I don't think mine looks as good, but I suppose it's supposed to look random - from a distance it looks okay. </span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I started with a base of Lychee by Barry M. I could tell that Amy had used Olive, which is a more greeny-tinted nude and looks better, but I don't have that one! I then used a dotting tool to add on blobs of green, brown, khaki and black, and topped with a matte topcoat as Amy had done. Here's some pics of my finished mani!</span></span><br>

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">My nails today are refreshing and summery! I've wanted to use nude with neon for a while and I came up with this design - and I love it! I was initially thinking of adding a leopard print design either over the neons or over the nude, but I liked the 'fresh' look of them without so left them plain.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The base is Lychee by Barry M, and the two neons are Beach Bag (orange) and Sun Hat (pink) from the Models Own Polish For Tans collection. They're stunning colours! I did the chevrons using template vinyls from She Sells Seashells.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Another design, which I think is quite cute for Easter/Spring. I must admit I didn't have much inspiration or time when I came up with these. I decided to use the Speedy Quick Dry collection that I won from Barry M as I'm loving the gorgeous pastel shades for spring. Quick-dry is great for nail art too as you don't have to wait forever before adding stuff or topcoating!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I used the pale blue for the base, and then five further shades for the dots. I painted a small blob of the colour I wanted onto a piece of scrap paper, then dipped a dotting tool in the blob and made the dots! This is much easier than trying to dip a dotting tool actually into a bottle of polish as you can more easily control how much you get. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I finished off with a layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. I like how these look quite subtle at first glance, but up close are more detailed! I definitely want to do another dotticure, but with bolder colours and I want to try a spiral pattern!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I was told at work these looked a bit like Easter Eggs, and also someone else insisted they were falsies and I couldn't have done them myself which is always a compliment, haha.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Realised I forgot to share my Easter nails on here - I did share on Instagram (it's so quick and easy!) but didn't have time to write a blog post as I was working all over Easter, boo! </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Before Easter, I was in a rush to do my nails, so ended up applying <a href="http://mymintnails.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/freckles-polish-jadis-designed-by-my.html" target="_blank">Jadis </a>(the polish I designed for Freckles Polish) again. I love polishes with holo or glitter, as it means you don't have to add any nail art and your nails can still look really pretty and unusual! Lots of people liked Jadis, and I was very proud to be wearing it :-)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">When it got to the Easter weekend, I didn't really have time to do a full Easter design, although I'd fancied doing eggs or chicks or something. I eventually settled on doodling this bunny-ear design using my Barry M nail art pens which didn't take long and ended up looking quite cute!! I loved them!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Today I have some pastel tribal gradient nails to show you! I sat down to do my nails last night, but was uninspired - the few things I started off trying didn't look good or went wrong, so I fell back on my go-to nail art - gradients! I know I can do gradients, so I knew I'd at least get something decent looking!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I picked four of the new Barry M Speedy Quick Dry polishes to use, in green, blue, pink and yellow. I used my usual sponging method to create the gradient. As the polishes are quite light in colour it took quite a few coats of sponging on each nail before I was happy with the coverage. The fact they dry fast meant I had to work fast as well! </span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGhiwn6fz4jD8DikV2RwfV0voixdpytVHAvQXODxe4pK1w7-7xLGibtV_muXQ8Tjjm4W-4mLpWyEn3U_rWtLDV0ZyBclrgxPXxxZRuRM2BqD5r8__WFtjdU2O88rBD807IEhrYVrHwEteW/s1600/tribalgradient5.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGhiwn6fz4jD8DikV2RwfV0voixdpytVHAvQXODxe4pK1w7-7xLGibtV_muXQ8Tjjm4W-4mLpWyEn3U_rWtLDV0ZyBclrgxPXxxZRuRM2BqD5r8__WFtjdU2O88rBD807IEhrYVrHwEteW/s1600/tribalgradient5.PNG" height="382" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Once the gradient was finished, it looked really pretty but plain. I've often had gradients like this on my nails with pastel shades, so wanted to spice this one up a bit. </span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg72jZItM2_qt0ui_O5PhY8a8mNwI7I_cAJ5_PI9TZKY0W0F6-Af9_t4CJc5xSxBB97I4Z_9Vq1-YwIu0OxwTiuVAPUbx_UDn0zCWYX8KlrL3ITO8_RCcWbj_sjLv0fQMwEWmsLMfnzauwj/s1600/tribalgradient1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg72jZItM2_qt0ui_O5PhY8a8mNwI7I_cAJ5_PI9TZKY0W0F6-Af9_t4CJc5xSxBB97I4Z_9Vq1-YwIu0OxwTiuVAPUbx_UDn0zCWYX8KlrL3ITO8_RCcWbj_sjLv0fQMwEWmsLMfnzauwj/s1600/tribalgradient1.png" height="382" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">After a bit of thinking I decided to add a tribal / aztec pattern to my nails. I made each nail slightly different. I think my favourite pattern is the one on my middle finger but I think they all look quite good together! The pattern was done using a Barry M nail art pen. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I finished off with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri to make them all shiny and smooth! Here's the finished product:</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">As promised, I'm back with some more swatches previewing some of the polishes that will be released tomorrow to celebrate <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/FrecklesPolish" target="_blank">Freckles Polish</a>'s first birthday!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The first polish I have to show you is from the Collaboration Collection. This collection comprises of six polishes, three designed by nail bloggers and three by competition winners. Julieann (creator of Freckles Polish) sent me the polish designed by winner Olivia, and it's a stunner!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Olivia named her polish Coralicious, which I think describes it so well! It's a gorgeous vibrant pinky-coral shade packed full of tiny holo glitter. Here it is on my nails:</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I think that this would be a gorgeous colour to wear during the summer and on holiday. It sparkles so prettily in the sun! This didn't dry competely smoothly because of all that lovely glitter. This could be solved with topcoat if you wished - no topcoat used in the above swatches though! Three coats of polish.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The next two polishes are from the Birthday Party Collection. This collection will comprise of more holographic polishes (there can never be too many!) that are all delicate, pretty shades that will be perfect for spring. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The first one is Strawberry Buttercream. This is a delicate pale purple with a subtle holo shimmer. It applies sooo smoothly and I was so impressed! As it's a pale colour I've used four coats for these swatches to make sure there was complete coverage for the photos, but you could probably get away with three. Alternatively you could layer this over a similar coloured base (like Prickly Pear by Barry M) and then just add one coat of this purple holo!</span></span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The second one is Party Dress. This is an absolute dream of a polish, and my favourite of these three. The colour is perfect - like a dusky deep pink. Ah I can't even describe it but it's beautiful. As above it applies so smoothly, and needed less coats than the one above as it's a bit more pigmented. The holo is more pronounced in this one too! I can see myself using this a lot. It's subtle enough for work but the holo sparkle makes it a bit special.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">I've been excited about this for a while now, and I can finally post about it! </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;">I was contacted a while back by Julieann who is the creator of <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/FrecklesPolish" target="_blank">Freckles Polish</a><span class="_5yl5" data-reactid=".gg.$mid=11427311115143=241463b3486d0313e45.2:0.0.0.0.0"><span data-reactid=".gg.$mid=11427311115143=241463b3486d0313e45.2:0.0.0.0.0.0"><span data-reactid=".gg.$mid=11427311115143=241463b3486d0313e45.2:0.0.0.0.0.0.$end:0:$0:0">. She sells some gorgeous bottles of handmade polish, and my personal favourites are the holographic ones. I was thrilled when Julieann asked me, as part of the celebrations for the first anniversary of Freckles Polish, to design a polish myself!</span></span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #76a5af;"><span class="_5yl5" data-reactid=".gg.$mid=11427311115143=241463b3486d0313e45.2:0.0.0.0.0"><span data-reactid=".gg.$mid=11427311115143=241463b3486d0313e45.2:0.0.0.0.0.0"><span data-reactid=".gg.$mid=11427311115143=241463b3486d0313e45.2:0.0.0.0.0.0.$end:0:$0:0">I was so excited, and began to think of what I would like my polish to be. I do love white polishes with coloured glitter, but I have a lot like that already from other indie makers and I didn't want to just re-design that kind of thing. I wanted something unique! So I had a think about the colours I like.... pink, obviously, and also minty green. I thought that a minty-green holo would look so pretty, and it wasn't something I'd seen loads of before. I own a few pink holo polishes but no mint-coloured ones! To make it a bit more individual and tailored to me, I asked Julieann to add some pink glitter.</span></span></span></span></span><br />

I've always thought that if I ever designed a polish collection, I would base it on The Chronicles of Narnia, as I love how magical those books are. At first I wanted to name my polish 'Caspian' after Prince Caspian from the stories, but then I thought that this made me think of a more vibrant shade. I finally decided to go with <b>Jadis</b>, which is the real name of The White Witch. The polish is lovely and frosty-looking, and I think the name goes well!</span></span></span></span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">As soon as I saw this design I knew I wanted to give it a go! I saw a version by a nail artist called <a href="https://instagram.com/elaine210792/" target="_blank">Elaine</a> on Instagram. When I read what she'd written about the design, it turns out she was inspired by another artist who was inspired by another artist etc! I think the original design was done by <a href="https://instagram.com/nailstorming/" target="_blank">NailStorming</a>. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Anyway, I decided to use a pink background, as it's my favourite colour. I used 'In A Heart Beat' from the new Barry M Speedy Quick Dry collection that I recently won! This is a lovely pinky-peach and I applied three coats. Regarding the quick-dry part, it does dry reasonably fast but I still used Insta-Dri over it as I needed it to be fully dry/hard before I used nail-art pens over the top.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The flower and petals were drawn using my black Barry M pen, and filled in using three other Speedy Quick Dry pastel shades, using a dotting tool. Once dry I went over the black again to neaten the shapes up. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I'm pleased with these although they look better from a distance - up close the hearts are quite uneven and I'm not 100% happy with the flower. They are fun though, and lovely for Spring!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">A few weeks ago, I won a competition ran by Superdrug/Barry M on Instagram. I was expecting to receive the new Speedy-Dry collection as my prize, but when it came I got so much more! I did receive the full speedy-dry collection (9 polishes) but I also got the three new spring gellys and the new plumpy topcoat. I was thrilled! But on top of all of these gorgeous polishes, I also got a massive range of make-up brushes (which I've passed on to my sister as I don't really wear a lot of make-up) and some make-up bits including a cheek contour kit and two gelly lip paints. I've kept the two lip paints because the colours are gorgeous, and my sister has got the other bits. All in all, a FANTASTIC prize that must have been worth quite a bit. A lot more than I was expecting and it was great to be able to share some of it with my sister as well!!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">So I was eager to try the new gelly shades. I'd actually already purchased Cotton (the white) but I'm glad to have another because it's a perfect white, and I go through white polish quite a lot as I often use it in nail art. The two other shades I'd resisted buying as I thought they were quite similar to gelly shades I already had. But they're absolutely beautiful and I'm so glad I now own them - they are actually quite unique and not too similar to any colours I already own.</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3ZbSFqLJENWFszbzGAmEaZpo8GhxYNLIevcLZLG1LVckhLPTOmr9DHM1UH8_7qS-6nlc53IfKboX-r3-sq_ip7L60H_arBHOvvhW2usZq4SxYT5h2DpUQOBTAFVdW3QW1bQhWDniNa_O8/s1600/pastelflowers4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3ZbSFqLJENWFszbzGAmEaZpo8GhxYNLIevcLZLG1LVckhLPTOmr9DHM1UH8_7qS-6nlc53IfKboX-r3-sq_ip7L60H_arBHOvvhW2usZq4SxYT5h2DpUQOBTAFVdW3QW1bQhWDniNa_O8/s1600/pastelflowers4.png" height="387" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The pink is called Fondant (love that name) and it's kind of a muted pastel pink, with a bit of a purple tone to it. Much more dusky and pigmented than the other pale pink gelly I have, Rosehip. The blue is called Sky Blue (not as imaginative a name!) and I'd thought it was going to be like Huckleberry and Elderberry, but it's not. It's much brighter and a really gorgeous shade of blue, lovely for spring.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I created these nails as I'd not done flowers for a while and they're easy to create with a dotting tool. I added a stud to one flower-middle per nail to make them more interesting. I also added a gradient on the other nails as I wanted to see how these colours would look blended together. I'm really pleased with this mani, I think it looks really Spring-like!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I posted this to Instagram and Twitter yesterday but have only just had time to write up the blogpost today. Myself and Rebecca from Lane's Lacquers planned to do a Mani Swap recently, where we both decided to pick a manicure done by each other, and then recreate it. Rebecca does a ton of gorgeous, bright designs and I always find myself thinking; 'I want to try that!' every time I see her new creations. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">It took me a while to decide which manicure to recreate, but in the end I chose one with a mint/pink colour-scheme (my favourite!) and a brilliant bold Leopard Print design. I've done leopard print a lot before, but usually I keep the print really tiny, so I wanted to try this bolder design. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I began with a base of Sugar Apple by Barry M, two coats. Once this was fully dry (it needs to be or the nail art pens will pull/dent the polish) I used the pink and black nail art pens by Barry M to doodle on the design. I worked with a copy of Rebecca's nails in front of me and tried to copy the print from each nail to make sure I achieved a 'random' look like she had. I finished with a topcoat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I loved the bold outcome of these nails, and got loads of nice comments about them. Several people even asked if they were transfers or stickers as they loved the pattern so much! Here's a photo of the design on each hand, and a bonus one I took with my new phone case!!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Since I saw a photo of these trainers in a magazine I knew I wanted to recreate the pattern on my nails as it was so bright and vibrant! I found out that the trainers were designed by Gola/Cath Kidston and sell for £65 - a bit pricey for me so I will just have to be content with having the pattern on my nails!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">I used a base of Malibu by Barry M. I loooove this blue! I then drew the clouds and the outline around my cuticle using my white Barry M pen. Once dry I filled in the outline with a yellow polish (limited edition Barry M) and then outlined in black to neaten it up.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">I like these from a distance but they're a bit too messy for my liking- I think it was a bit too detailed for me to attempt!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I've just come back from 5 days in Benidorm! It was so much fun, and nice to just relax, eat and drink rather than be at work.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I got my toenails done at Pastille in Leeds by the amazing Liv! I got them done with gel so they'd last and picked a pretty summery pattern! I don't like getting gels on my fingers as I like to change them often, so I just painted my nails with two of the Models Own Polish For Tans collection - the peach is Beach Bag and the pink is Sun Hat. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Again I've not had much time for posting due to my work. However, here's some pictures of a manicure I did a few days ago. I've wanted to try a full pastel gradient for a while now - where the gradient goes across all of the nails on the hand. I used my usual gradient method and the polishes I used were:</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br />Banana Split by Models Own (yellow)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Peach Melba by Models Own (peach)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Strawberry Tart by Models Own (pink)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Grape Juice by Models Own (purple)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Powder Blue by Models Own (blue)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Sugar Apple by Barry M (green)</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">...if I'd had all of the Models Own Fruit Pastel collection I would have used them all as they're the perfect pastels, but I don't have the blue and the green so had to substitute them with one of the new Hypergels and a Barry M gelly, but I think they still looked nice together!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">If I'd not been at work I would have added a single silver stud at the base of each nail I think, which would have finished the look off nicely. But I still love these! </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">Another quick manicure to show you. I've not had as much time as I'd like to do my nails or post here this week as I'm in the middle of a 7-day-stretch at work. I do have some pretty nails planned for my days off though (if they turn out okay!). </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">My boyfriend surprised me last week - he said I was going to have a parcel delivered, and when it came it was this amazing Nails Inc set designed by Alexa Chung. Inside there's 6 gorgeous full-size polishes. There's a navy, a nude and a grey, and a holo glitter. There's also two clear polishes, one full of hearts and the other full of stars. It's great to see a mainstream brand use different shaped glitter and I was so happy to own the set as I've admired it online for ages! Also in the set there was a quilted bag to keep the polishes in, and a nail file. I never buy myself expensive polish sets but I like it when other people buy them for me, they feel like such a treat! <3</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">Anyway, I was desperate to try the hearts/stars but wasn't sure how I wanted to use them. I also didn't have much time to do my nails so I decided to save the shaped glitter for another time, when I had a manicure planned around them. Instead I reached for the grey polish, which is called <b>Winter Lilac</b>. It's an absolutely stunning shade, and only took two easy coats to be opaque. The brushes in these polishes really impressed me, they were wide and curved at the tip so you could practically paint each nail with just one swoosh of the brush! I was a bit worried about the chunky silver lids of these polishes - although absolutely stunning this style of lid is usually difficult to hold. However it was fine because the lids pulled off revealing a smaller screw-top lid underneath - much easier to grip/turn!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">I painted the tips with the holographic glitter polish (just called <b>holographic</b>) which is also stunning - I love the tiny glitter particles. It goes so well with the grey! The overall finish of these was quite subtle so I added a studded accent nail with silver studs to match the glitter. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #999999;">I love that this set gives a nod to trends that a nail artist would appreciate, like shaped glitter pieces and holo polish. I also like that the shades that come in the set are classic, yet not too predictable - I'm glad there's no reds, as that is too predictable! Can't wait to try out the other polishes!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #274e13;">Quick post today to show you what I'm currently wearing on my nails.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #274e13;"><br /></span></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW5BFXBEQi3gRMhJKqWUL9OmpPWxHkcYr-8mZwR6XgByKvYncwla1bDC8HygADz9_LkX8cs1bEBUN1tLtID0-vcLUPWhk3LgxDH5zQuBm_0bVR_eDuoaPfcf2dS99MXiF33oQjFlKzuLav/s1600/one.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW5BFXBEQi3gRMhJKqWUL9OmpPWxHkcYr-8mZwR6XgByKvYncwla1bDC8HygADz9_LkX8cs1bEBUN1tLtID0-vcLUPWhk3LgxDH5zQuBm_0bVR_eDuoaPfcf2dS99MXiF33oQjFlKzuLav/s1600/one.png" height="377" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #274e13;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #274e13;">I used single chevron vinyls from <a href="http://www.she-sells-seashells.co.uk/" target="_blank">She Sells Seashells</a> to create the negative space. I used tweezers to place one chevron vinyl on each nail, then painted over the nail in black (Nails Inc, Kate Spade). Usually I remove the vinyls immediately, but this time I let the black dry slightly, then painted over the top part of my nail using Crowley by <a href="http://www.prettyquirky.co.uk/" target="_blank">Pretty Quirky</a>. This glitter is one of a one-off duo I won in a giveaway held by Pretty Quirky, and it's absolutely stunning! These photographs definitely don't do it justice. Crowley is a rich mix of different coloured tiny glitter, tiny flakies and just general gorgeousness.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #274e13;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #274e13;">I'm pleased with the finished manicure, it looks quite understated from a distance, but the negative space gives it an edge - and I can't stop looking at the pretty glitter under different lights! <3 I also can't wait to use the second glittery polish I got in my giveaway prize!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">So I know with new polishes I often see the question "Do they stamp?". Well, I'm not into stamping when I do nail art, mostly because I'm not very good at it! What I do enjoy (as you'll probably know if you read my blog regularly) is gradients. So as soon as I saw those three paler<b> HyperGel</b> shades by <b>Models Own</b> (reviewed in my <a href="http://mymintnails.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/models-own-hypergels-new-shades.html" target="_blank">last post</a>) I knew I wanted to try them out as a gradient.</span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I wouldn't necessarily have put all three of these shades together in a gradient - I knew the pink and blue would look good as they were both so pale but wasn't sure about including the peach as it was a bit of a darker colour. However I went ahead with all three just to see what they would look like. At first I thought it looked awful, but I persevered and I'm really happy with the result! </span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">For gradients it helps if the polishes are really pigmented so you don't have to sponge on loads of layers to build up the colour, so these hypergels were perfect.</span></span><br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4KdyfpznzzBc4KONTfyrVEYOfYVKRDzjbPLaRK8XQ100Vw6_Lui0uQWQSrq2KH4pzFniaGgSyn8RulRrjLdelp0hz_-bNf54UmVrltgqJNGRifLJYvrW9n4wuB4z7PXN3Jea0sTuil_zz/s1600/hypergelgradient1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4KdyfpznzzBc4KONTfyrVEYOfYVKRDzjbPLaRK8XQ100Vw6_Lui0uQWQSrq2KH4pzFniaGgSyn8RulRrjLdelp0hz_-bNf54UmVrltgqJNGRifLJYvrW9n4wuB4z7PXN3Jea0sTuil_zz/s1600/hypergelgradient1.png" height="354" width="640"></a></div>
<br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I used my usual method - started off with two coats of the 'base' shade (the lightest of the colours to be used in the gradient usually) which was <b>Powder Blue</b>. Once dry (I used a fast drying topcoat then waited overnight) I painted the three colours (the other two are<b> Long Beach Peach</b> & <b>Paradise Pink</b>) onto a small wedged make-up sponge, and dabbed them onto each nail. I did this a few times, moving the sponge slightly higher/lower each time to blend the colours. A topcoat smoothed it all out. </span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">It looked lovely on its own but I felt like adding something and I've not used my pretty studs for ages! I'd just bought a new stud-wheel from Poundland which had these gorgeous big silver diamond shapes in, so I used those. On an accent nail on each hand I added some pastel studs in matching shades to the gradient, then some gold studs to finish it off.</span></span><br>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I really like these! </span></span><br>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">A very exciting post today. One of my most favourite polish brands ever, Models Own, sent me five of their ten new HyperGel shades that have just been released for Spring. HyperGel polishes are super-glossy with a gel effect finish - they are supposed to look as if you have had a gel manicure in a salon! </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The ten new shades are a mixed bunch, some are pastel shades and some more vibrant, but are all worthy additions to the HyperGel family.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">The ones I received to review were <b>Purple Orchid, Long Beach Peach, Tropical Green, Powder Blue </b>& <b>Paradise Pink</b>. I have not used topcoat in any of my swatches.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I'll start by showing you the two darker colours. </span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL8CvBdxN0hCzrqVhr5J7XGqz-snDlhvPWNGcNNNWGmUe3OR4oyrHWYgaEPRN5zhS0j9Nm6glDX9hLuqdTYIcOTvaROHPuxKccU9RS8bouJ8SlsB88ttsECgWYRh1WG0WaKApPxlM76pIz/s1600/PurpleOrchid.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL8CvBdxN0hCzrqVhr5J7XGqz-snDlhvPWNGcNNNWGmUe3OR4oyrHWYgaEPRN5zhS0j9Nm6glDX9hLuqdTYIcOTvaROHPuxKccU9RS8bouJ8SlsB88ttsECgWYRh1WG0WaKApPxlM76pIz/s1600/PurpleOrchid.PNG" height="320" width="311" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><b>Purple Orchid</b> is a rich purple, that appears rather darker on the nail than on the shiny bottle-top. I used three coats, and it builds up nicely. The texture is slightly more gelly-like than the pastel colours I tried, but application was smooth and even after the first coat. A lovely sophisticated shade. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><b>Tropical Green</b> is next. Before I even read the name for this polish I thought it looked very tropical, and would be a great shade to wear on hot summer days. It'd also be great for halloween - it reminds me of slime! This polish had a very jelly-like consistancy, and was much more see-through than the other shades. I used three generous coats, and it was still not fully opaque - from a distance I don't think this would be too much of a problem though!</span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Now on to the pastel shades. I <i>love</i> a pastel polish, and own sooo many already! I was very interested to see how these new Models Own offerings would compare with my current favourites, so I've also added comparison pictures with other polishes that I use regularly as my go-to pastels.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><b>Paradise Pink</b> is a beautiful pastel pink, very very pale. <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">As soon as I saw this on my nails I thought it was very similar to Rosehip by Barry M. I've used that as a comparison along with Strawberry Tart by Models Own. As you can see, Rosehip is very similar, but Paradise Pink is perhaps a little more of a dusky pink. I prefered the formula of the Hypergel rather than the Gelly in this case which surprised me! Strawberry Tart is much brighter in comparison so not really a dupe. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I compared this with Barry M gelly shades Elderberry & Blueberry. Unfortunately I don't own Blueberry Muffin from the Models Own Fruit Pastel collection or I would have included that too! Elderberry is much more of a pigmented dull grey-blue. Huckleberry is quite similar, but lighter and paler. Again, I prefer the formula of the Hypergel and I think Powder Blue will easily take over as my favourite pastel blue shade. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Overall, I think all 5 polishes are great. Lovely smooth application and I really loved the high-shine effect once they dried. My favourites are the three pastel shades. I thought the formula was slightly better on these - more creamy and opaque more quickly. Also as I mentioned above I'm a sucker for a beautiful smooth pastel shade, so these three are right up my street!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">Powder Blue has to be my absolute favourite.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Hello!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #cc0000;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Okay, this is going to be the last time I do this design I promise! But when I had the <a href="http://mymintnails.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/striped-heart-tips.html" target="_blank">striped version</a> on my nails a week or so ago I wasn't very pleased with the neatness of my stripes, and I got thinking whether the design would look good without them. I decided to use black, white and red as I thought they'd look really striking together. I couldn't decide whether to do a black base with a white outline around the heart, or a white base and a black outline. So in the end I decided to do both!</span></span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #cc0000;">I used the Kate Spade Nails Inc black, and my new Barry M white, Cotton. Let me just say that Cotton is beautiful and perfect, I'm so glad after it took me a while to find/buy it. The red is my beautiful Dior polish that I got for Christmas. I've described in more detail the steps I went through to create these nails in my other post (link above) if anyone wants further info on how to do them! Here's a picture I remembered to take mid-way through the design... (on the black nails I did the heart first in white before going over it with the red to make the red stand out more!)</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I'm posting today to show you the second Colour Chrome shade I bought in the Models Own sale. I only bought two after looking carefully at a lot of swatches and deciding which would be right for me. I used to buy lots from a new collection and then only end up using one or two, so I'm glad I've been more sensible this time - these colours are perfect for me and I love them both! See <a href="http://mymintnails.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/models-own-chromes-rose.html" target="_blank">my previous post</a> for swatches of the other shade I bought, Rose.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">So this is Indigo! Again, I used two coats. Careful application is key with these. I started off by buffing my nails to make sure they were smooth. I don't usually buff them as I think it thins them and makes them a bit weaker, but for this polish it's kind of important to have a really smooth base. I didn't use basecoat or topcoat as this effects the overall look.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">When applying the polish I tried to use three smooth brush-strokes per nail, one at each side and one down the centre, to keep the polish non-streaky. The polish dries quickly so I was able to apply a second coat straight away! Here it is:</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br />These are so hard to photograph!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">After one day of wear I decided to make these more interesting and turned to my favourite type of nail art - the gradient! I was very interested to see if these polishes would work in a gradient and if the colours would blend.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I did the gradient in my usual way, painting both colours onto a make-up sponge and dabbing the colour onto each nail, repeating a few times to build up the colour. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;">I loved the finished result, I thought it kind of looked like a colour-change polish. The chrome effect definitely added a new dimension to gradient nails. I thought they looked as if they'd gone rusty at the ends. A friend at work said they looked like mermaid nails!</span></span><br />
